Sell My Mobile Phone

Is it possible to sell my mobile phone? If this sounds even remotely like you, then please do read on.

In general, people see selling their old mobile phones as a laborious task. Therefore many of us first try to sell our old phone to someone that we know. Many people believe that nobody would want to buy their old phones because there are so many newer phones available at relatively low prices. This is a very big misconception.

There are more than 100 million old mobile phones that are currently being stored away in dusty boxes all over the world.

There are some people who like keeping their old phones as backups. These days we don't really need spare phones as most of our mobiles are insured. Most mobile insurance packages will ensure your lost or broken phone is replaced within 24 hours.

Do you have a spare phone lying around, "just in case"?

  • Yes
  • Yes, but it's broken
  • No, I recycled them

There are many recycling companies, both on and offline that will gladly buy your old mobile phones from you. Once they receive your mobile phone, they send you the payment within a few days.

There are a number of ways your old mobile phones are used by these companies depending on their condition. The majority of phones that still work and don't look too messed up will generally be refurbished and sold to other people.

Should your phone be damaged they will strip it for spares to be used to repair other mobiles. Recycling of mobile phones is really beneficial to preservation of our environment. In addition it also adds to the global stock numbers, of mobile phones in circulation, thereby reducing the need to tap into our resource pools to manufacture as many new phones.

Fantastic Hub and very informative. I wish you well because of the helping effect it can have on our environment. So it's good to raise as much awareness on mobile phone recycling as needs to be.

A very well written and informative post. I think mobile phone recycling is still a very new concept and not many people are aware of just how it can benefit them and the environment. This post clearly addresses the points of it which I like.

By searching on Google it looks like a lot of individuals think mobile phone recycling is some sort of a scam and are unwilling to send there phones off to these companies.

I was slightly concerned at first I must admit, and I waited for a few months until I spotted the comparison site SellMyMobile.com getting quite a bit of good media. The great thing about comparison sites such as these is that you can get the best price back for your old mobile phones so its a win win situation.

It's amazing that there are over 100 million mobile phones that are still out there being unused as well!! I find that an incredible fact.

i thought these phone recycling companies were a con too but my friend sent their phone to one and got a lot of money back for it so i had a change of heart! i've sold 2 of my phones now to mobile phone xchange cos sellmymobile said they were offering the most. once you've done it once you'll see how easy it is so you won't put it off so long the next time. and it's also good to sell your phone as soon as you can, it will be worth more if it is a more recent model. the price might go down if you wait a bit.
